Location & Context

Stonewall Resort — Roanoke, West Virginia

This project was spread out across the property instead of being one long stretch of paving.

The golf course had a number of cart path areas that had worn down over time and needed attention. We worked through those sections one by one, repairing and repaving the areas that needed it most.

By the time the course work was finished, the combined repairs totaled about one mile of cart path paving.

‍

The Challenge

The biggest challenge was simply how spread out the work was.

Instead of pulling into one area and paving all day, our crew had to move from one section of the course to the next, bringing equipment and material with us as we went.

Cart paths also leave a lot less room to work than a normal parking lot or roadway, so equipment placement, truck access, and transitions between the old and new asphalt all had to be handled carefully.

At the same time, we were working on an active resort property, so keeping everything organized and moving efficiently was important.

‍

Our Solution

We worked our way through the course section by section, repairing the damaged cart path areas and tying the new asphalt back into the existing surface.

The crew kept equipment and material moving throughout the property so we could complete the different repair areas without wasting time between sections.

In addition to the golf course work, we completed paving around the resort cottages and along the path leading toward the boating dock.

A job like this takes more than just laying asphalt. It takes good coordination, the right equipment, and a crew that can move through a large property without turning every repair into a separate project.

‍

The Result

By the end of the project, we had completed roughly one mile of combined cart path repairs and paving across the course.

The repaired areas gave golfers and maintenance crews a smoother ride while improving the overall look and condition of the cart path system.

Along with the additional paving around the cottages and boating dock, the Stonewall project was a good example of the type of work we can handle on larger golf and resort properties — from individual problem areas to extensive repairs spread across an entire course.
